Underprivileged Pakistanis make outlandish accusations

PAKISTAN: The Army in this country was mobilized in aid of the Police and Rangers to enforce coronavirus SOPs here in Pakistan’s federal capital Islamabad.

The Pakistani populace has been found by Prime Minister Imran Khan, his government and the educated public at large to be flouting Covid-19 precautionary measures.

Also, Pakistanis interviewed by NewsroomPakistan in the city of Lahore ‑ mostly from poor backgrounds – were found to be in denial of any such thing as COVID-19, saying doctors inject people once they reach hospital and kill them, claiming PKR 500,000/- (approx. $3200/-) for each person they kill.

Asked where so much money could possibly come from, they accuse the United States of funding each “killing” to the tune of $500,000/-, of which the Pakistani doctors get just $3,200/-.

Asked if they’d actually seen such a transaction take place and if they have any other proof, they said they hadn’t but believed it was true anyhow.

Given this incredible situation, the Islamabad administration toured the city on Friday with the Army to enforce implementation of coronavirus protocols.

Assistant Commissioner Rana Musa Tahir visited different acted sternly against violators, sealing one shop and fining the shopkeeper for violating SOPs.

In a televised address the prime minister once again urged the people to adopt preventive measures against the corona virus to thwart it from spreading and so that lockdowns could be avoided.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said his and his government’s appeals to follow SOPs had fallen on deaf ears, the people neither fearing the virus nor being the least bit cautious. Therefore, he said, the pandemic was growing rapidly.
