GUJRANWALA: The medical superintendent of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Gujranwala restored faith in humanity when he braved the thuggery of the menacing religious party Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan rioters on Tuesday.
Medical Superintendent Fazl-ur-Rehman said the menacing protestors halted his vehicle carrying oxygen cylinders from Lahore, in Gujranwala at the Chanda Qila Bypass.
Dr. Rehman said he was beaten up by a few protesters but he implored them to let him get the cylinders to the hospital, which he said has 150 patients who are on oxygen, without which they would’ve died. He said blockades by the protestors had caused his hospital’s supplies to run out.
Dr. Rehman was all praise for the motorway police and district administration who helped him leave the scene generally unscathed.
