KARACHI: Pakistan’s Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said the other day that he looked forward to Pakistan participating wholeheartedly in the Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, scheduled from April 13 to October 13.
He visited the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) where he was briefed about the upcoming international exhibitions scheduled to be held in Japan and Pakistan.
Regional Director General Islamabad Muhammead Naseer informed Jam Kamal via video link that Expo 2025 Osaka was themed as ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’ and Pakistan two of three sub-themes of the exhibition; Connecting Lives and Empowering Lives.
Naseer said Pakistan had applied to participate in the exhibition and expected approval from the exhibitors soon to come through soon. He said that a summary had also been finalized and sent for the approval to the ministry. TDAP Director General of Agro and Food Divison Pakistan Horticulture and Export Company Athar Hussain Khokhar informed the commerce minister said that TDAP is scheduled to organize the second International Food and Agriculture Exhibition from August 9 to 11, 2024 at Karachi’s Expo Centre Karachi, where delegates from 55 countries had been invited to participate.
The minister was also briefed about the expected increase in the export of rice and maize etc. He was also informed that Pakistan could also enter the meat market in China. –APP
