STOCKHOLM: Swedish prosecutors have named a graphic designer named Stig Engstrom ‑‑ known as “Skandia Man” – as former Swedish prime minister Olof Palme’s murderer in 1986. Engstrom committed suicide in 2000.

Palme was shot in the back as he walked home from the cinema with his wife in Stockholm.Several witnesses are said to have seen a man fire the shots and flee.

Palme’s son Marten said the prosecutors were right and had rightly closed the case.
