ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi slammed India for “threatening regional peace with its aggressive attitude” on Wednesday, as tension rose between China and India. Indian and Chinese soldiers were reported to have disputes once again.

Qureshi said India’s track record was expansionist and aggressive, amply evident from how India arbitrarily quashed Indian-occupied Kashmir’s disputed status by revoking on 5 August 2019 the special status, or limited autonomy, granted under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution ‑‑‑ to Jammu and Kashmir — a region administered by India as a state, and a part of the larger region of Kashmir, which has been the subject of dispute among India and Pakistan. This, Pakistan’s foreign minister said, was compounded by India’s attitude towards it’s hostility towards Nepal, adding that New Delhi was also sabotaging peace in Afghanistan.

Eastern Laddakh with troop buildup: The standoff between India and China at the disputed eastern Laddakh border area intensified a few days ago.

Chinese has brought in 1300 more troops on its side of the ‘Line of Actual Control’ (LAC) near the Pangong Lake.
