ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet’s decisions today will have a decremental effect on inflation, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Tuesday.
Dr Firdous told a press conference here in Pakistan’s federal capital after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting with his cabinet that Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USC) was being given Rs10 billion in subsidies over the next five months — to be disbursed in Rs2-billion monthly payments, to help decrease prices of wheat, rice, sugar, andghee.
She said a 20-kilogram bag of whole wheat flour (aata) would now be available for PKR 800 while sugar and ghee would be sold at PKR 70 and PKR 175 a kilo.
