Pakistani Health Minister says there’s not a single Corona Virus victim in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing told a press conference along with Health Minister Zafar Mirza here on Monday. that all Pakistani nationals stranded in China would return to their country except those living in Wuhan City.

Ambassador Jing said there were a lot of Pakistanis living in China and the Chinese government is in touch with them, while the Chinese government is utilizing all its resources to contain the corona virus epidemic.

He said his government was in touch with the World Health Organization and that Chinese scientists were trying to develop a vaccine for the disease.

Pakistani Health Minister Zafar Mirza claimed there is not a single case of coronavirus in the country. He said the Chinese government has taken effective measures to counter the disease as none of the passengers are allowed to exit the airport without proper screening.

“We have not found a single person affected with the deadly virus at any airport.”

The Pakistani Nationals stuck in China have been urging the government to repatriate them from the virus hit country. Till now, none of the Pakistani Nationals living in China have been infected with the disease, however measures are being taken for their safe return.

Coronavirus that spread last month from the Chinese City of Wuhan has so far claimed more than 300 lives worldwide while thousands have been infected with the disease.

In view of the epidemic, the World Health Organization has declared the situation as an ’emergency’ and called for taking concrete measures to contain the virus.
