RAWALPINDI: Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor dismissed on Friday Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo’s allegations implicating the head of ‘a national institution’ as “unfounded”, after Senate Chair Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Chairperson Saleem Mandviwalla survived  no-confidence motions against them.

Gen Asif said in a post on Twitter, “Remarks by Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo implicating head of national premier institution are unfounded. The tendency to bring entire democratic process into disrepute for petty political gains doesn’t serve democracy.”

But the opposition has called the failure of the no-confidence motion ‘horse trading’ and ‘an attack on democracy’.
