KARACHI: The Chinese Consulate General in Pakistan’s metropolitan port city of Karachi is under terrorist attack from approximately four (4) attackers who began their attack by shooting at the consulate general’s guards and then throwing grenades. Two policemen have been killed in the attack.
Gunfire can be heard from a long distance away and grenades have been lobbed at the building and into the compound, the cause of smoke billowing from within it. The attack which began at around 9:30am Pakistan Standard Time this morning is being countered by Pakistani security forces, whose standards of high security have been called into question once again. The locality house other consulates general as well and is said to be a high security area with road barriers and armed security personnel.
